"Bittersweet" was one of the first tracks I composed for the new album "Awakening" when I started the writing process. This, unlike most other pieces was built around a single piano motif and is predominately strings. The final addition of voices added the haunting feeling of nostalgia when you realize a big part of your life is coming to a close and beginning a new chapter. You realize things are going to be very different, but even better than they ever have been. You still look back on the journey that got you to this moment and accept that you have to move on and leave certain things behind.
